This is one of Nepal is most popular tourist destinations. The Hanuman Dhoka Temple, located in Kathmandu is Durbar Square, was once the residence of the Malla Kings. In addition, it includes the ornate palaces built under the Shah Dynasty. The statues entrance door, known as a "dhoka" in Nepal, is what gives it its name. It dates back to 1672.

Pashupati Nath Temple

The first iteration of this Pashupati Nath Temple was constructed in the fifth century by Lichhavi King Shupuspa. Since termites attacked and destroyed the previous temple, this one was essentially a replacement. While many temples have been constructed in Nepal throughout the years, none are quite as impressive as this one. As of right now, this is Kathmandu is oldest Hindu temple. Vasuki Nath Temple, Unmatta Bhairava Temple, Surya Narayana Temple, Kirtimukha Bhairava Shrine, Budhanilakantha shrine, Hanuman shrine, and 184 Shivalinga shrine are a few of the temples that are located within the Pashupati Nath Temple.

A replica of the Swayambhunath Temple, Kathesimbhu Stupa is now recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Nestled between Thamel and Durbar Square, the stupa is one of the most popular pilgrimage destinations in Kathmandu. Surrounded by smaller stupas, carvings, and statues, it was constructed using repurposed elements from the Swayambhunath Temple complex. The 2015 earthquake caused some damage to it.

One of the oldest stupas in the city is Swayambhunath Stupa, which is perched on a mountaintop in Kathmandu Valley and encircled by greenery. You can tour a number of shrines, monasteries, stupas, temples, and a library while at this location.The Swayambhunath temple, one of the most visited locations in the city, provides stunning views over the Kathmandu valley.
